Review : Stila 'in the moment' eyeshadow pallet

Heyy everyone,

I'm a lover for eye-shadow pallets, and this one is no exception. I bought this the other week when my mum, sisters and I popped into T.K.Maxx to look for a watch for my sister, since you can get great brands there for cheap prices. While they were looking at the ice watch I decided to look around the make-up as they always have such nice things in there. This Stila pallet caught my eye, mainly because the packaging is in a colour I love, and once I looked inside the colours of the shadows were the ones I had been looking for. Not only was it pretty much a perfect eye-shadow pallet for me but the price was only £10 when it would normally have been £25.

So over the last few weeks since I got it, I've been wearing it every time I do my make-up. And I have to say the pigmentation of the colours is amazing, even though I haven't been using an eye primer as I don't have one at this moment in time the colours have been lasting all day even when I've been under the sun and covered in water (we've been to theme parks multiple times this holiday). If you recommend any primers please comment them below.

I'm a sucker for nude coloured pallets making this one of my favourite, but also the range of pink/purple shades are lovely and are colours which make my eye colour pop (my eyes are a green/blue). Over all making this pallet one I will reach for many times.

Not only are the colours amazing but they are mainly all shimmer based, which though might not be everyone's cup of tea I love.

Going from left to right, starting with the darkest to the lightest.
First the nude shades: captivate | whim | spontaneous | wonder | desire.
Next pink/purple shades: catalyst | improvise | glance | impulse | instinct.

I have to say out of all the shades instinct is my favourite and I use it the most, particularly to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and part way along the water line.

Along with all the eye shadows the pallet come with a full-size smudge stick waterproof eye liner. I haven't used it much of yet but from testing it on my hand I can tell the colour is gorgeous and strong, and will work wonders when doing a smoky eye look.

Over all, I love this pallet and can't wait to use it more in the future.

Back to school // Supplies

Heyy guys

I can't believe that I have about another week off then I start college. Since I left school after I finished my exams it's nearly been three months. So though I'm nervous to the point where my legs shake, I'm actually pretty excited that I can go back to learning. Another things that has put me in a good mood about starting college is that fact that I can get a load more stationary; though I already had a good portion of what I needed as I hadn't used it up last year. (Like my pens always dry out but never my highlighters, it's like they are invincible.) Since I'm starting college and they haven't given us a list of things we need, I've just picked up the things I thought I would most likely need and use if they weren't going to be used a college. I can't wait for this whole new adventure in college but not knowing what I need is actually quite stressful, hopefully after the enrolment day next week I will know more. Wish me luck!

First of all I have my binder on the left. I don't know how many binders I need like do I need one for each class or do I take one with just the stuff I need (but knowing me I would probably forget the notes I need), but anyway I already had this binder as I bought it to put my history coursework in back in January. And as it has no use at the moment, and I love the quote on the front I thought this would be a great start. I got it from wilkos - they do amazing and cheap stationary there - where I also got my pens from. I literally stick to the same brand of pens, Bic cristal original, and have been using then for the last couple of years. Though the pencil and highlighter I have no idea where they're from as I think my dad ordered them online in bulk so I just use then.

I have loads of notebooks there's too many to count, and this is just a simple plain one that I can take notes in. I also have lined paper ready to use and put in the binder, though I'm running low as I used so much of it last year when writing all the English essays, I preferred writing by hand than typing it all up made it easier to make changes. Then finally I have my new planner. We were always giving a planner in school and it actually made me so happy I could choose my own one this year, minus the part where I realised they were all so expensive or the paper wasn't that good quality and I would probably rip it in a small number of uses. Anyway, since I passed all my exams my Mum treated me to one from W.H.Smiths as a well done. I love this one because though its small it has enough space to write in and I love the colours.

Anyway that's all I've got for supplies for college. If there's anything else you think I should have comment below, I totally have no idea what I would need for college.

Good Luck to anyone starting school soon, be it the same school or a new one.

Throne of Glass // Book Review

Heyy everyone,

I've been on holiday this week, which tends to mean I read a lot more. So the other week I went to the library to pick out some books at random as I had no idea what to read. This is the first one out of the lot and took me about two days to read.

I've always been a fantasy kind of girl especially when the main female character has this awesome warrior persona about her, as well as some kind of magic in there. Throne of Glass is no exception to this. The main character is a girl names Celaena, who has lived the majority of her life as an assassin and out cast. The story follows her as (I'm trying to not give too much away) she discovers hidden mysteries - that is not what it seems like at the beginning but if I say what it is I feel like I'm given away a huge part of the story.

If you want a better description of it here's the blurb.....

Meet Celaena Sardothien. Beautiful. Deadly. Destined for greatness.

In the dark, filthy salt mines of Endovier, an eighteen-year-old girl is serving a life sentence. She is a trained assassin, the best of her kind, but she made a fatal mistake. She got caught.

Young Captain Westfall offers her a deal: her freedom in return for one huge sacrifice. Celaena must represent the prince in a to-the-death tournament - fighting the most gifted thieves and assassins in the land. Live or die, Celaena will be free. Win or lose, she is about to discover her true destiny. But will her assassin's heart be melted?

I love this book I literally couldn't put it down for the time I was reading it, and can't wait to go get the next books in the series. Sarah J. Maas is an amazing author and I can't believe I hadn't discovered her yet. So check it out I think if fantasy is your kind of thing you will enjoy it.

And if you have already (or when you have) read it help me choose who to ship Celaena with, I can't choose between the captain of the guards and the prince. I'm leaning towards the captain but she gets along so well with the prince. Comment below what you think and we can start a discussion about it.

What book are you reading at the moment?

Pink Mystic // Make-up look

Heyy everyone

I've just realised even though I've show you guys the likes of my favourite make-up products and what I use on a daily bases, I have yet to do any other kind of make up look (which was what I wanted to do when I started this blog along with outfit posts) - though I have done some on my youtube channel thats_sosophie. So this week I thought I could share with you how I did my make-up look for dress-to-impress, you can see the what I wore in a few posts back here. As I think it's the sort of look you could also wear for a date night or even a night out with the girls. Anyway I'll stop rambling now and get into the actual look.

I really like this look and I think it sort of makes my eye colour pop. If you want any other types of make-up looks comment them below so I can give it a go.

Girl Online // Book review

Heyy everyone,

As said in my last post 25 facts about me I love to read so I thought this week I would do a book review. I would write about 'The Book Thief' which I am currently reading but I'm only about a third of the way through so I thought I couldn't give a totally honest review on it. So I've decided to write about 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg (aka youtuber Zoella).

It seems to be the thing now for youtubers to write books with many of them writing them for our book shelves and too be honest I don't normally read the books that are popular at the moment. For example I have still yet to read any John Green books, but that's mainly because I prefer reading fantasy and adventure ones. However I thought I would give Girl Online ago.

Girl Online if about a girl named Penny who writes a blog and the whirlwind of emotions she goes through on her adventures through being a teenager.

How the characters where portrayed and the use of the blog posts to express more of Penny's thought was really good, it was able to give us more of a deeper understanding to what Penny was feeling with out it sounding self centred (it wasn't like the books that you find every sentence starts with I), I had fun reading it and I think it only took me a few days to finish. Also, Zoe is writing a sequel to Girl Online that I will read when it comes out, so if anyone wants a review on that leave a comment below.

If your looking for a good book to read over this summer I would definitely recommend Girl Online for those who like teen fiction, and if not give it a try like myself you might find out you like this kind of genre as well.

I really want to find new books to read, so if you have any recommendations comment them below.

So till next week my lovelies
